Vikram Rathour says Rohit Sharma never forgets gameplans : Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is said to be the most forgetful player in the team. He has many times forgotten his luggage in hotels, airplanes and other places. What’s more, he even forgot his wedding ring once, but it was later found. Rohit himself and his wife Ritika have often spoken about this habit in interviews. Now the former batting coach of Team India Vikram Rathod has made a new revelation.
He is a very shrewd strategist –
Now Vikram Rathore praised captain Rohit Sharma in former cricketer Taruvar Kohli’s podcast. Rathore said, “I have never seen any captain as involved in team meetings or strategy as Rohit Sharma was. Rohit may forget to bat or bowl after the toss, and forget his phone and iPad on the team bus, but he never forgets his gameplan. He’s very smart about that. He is also a very shrewd strategist.”
He spends a lot of time with the players –
The former batting coach added, “He spends a lot of time on team strategy. It is part of the bowlers’ meeting and the batsmen’s meeting. He wants to sit with the bowlers and batsmen and understand what they are thinking. He spends a lot of time with the players.” Describing Rohit as the captain of the players, Rathore said that being a batsman with extraordinary ability and consistency, Rohit is an example for other teams.

Always set an exemplary example for the team –
Vikram Rathod said, “His first quality is that he is a great player as a batsman. I think he’s someone who understands his game really well. He always has a clear game plan. Even as a leader you have to perform like this to set the example. Especially since he became the captain, he has always set the example.”

Rohit surprised everyone in T20 World Cup final –
Vikram Rathod added that, “Rohit’s decisions on the field, however, have mostly been ‘spot on’. Some of their decisions surprise you as much as the coach sitting in the dugout or pavilion. After a while you realize it was a ‘master stroke’.” Citing the T20 World Cup as an example, Rathod said, “In the final, he ended Jasprit Bumrah’s over early. Which may have made many question the decision, but it put us in a position where we had to defend 16 runs in the last over. Which the Indian team successfully did.”
