Trump said in a radio interview on the 12th that Ohio Senator Vance, Florida Senator Rubio, North Dakota Governor Burgum and South Carolina Senator Scott may become his running mates. He also compared the selection process to “a complicated version of the reality show “The Apprentice”.

The four-day Republican National Convention will open on the 15th with a focus on economic issues, “Make America Prosperous Again,” and on the 16th turn to crime issues with the theme of “Make America Safe Again.” The theme of the 17th is “Make America Great Again,” which will focus on foreign policy.

According to the campaign team, Trump will formally accept the Republican nomination as the presidential candidate on the 18th. He will then deliver a speech, announcing that he will usher in a “new golden age of America.”

Trump’s running mate is not mentioned on the convention schedule yet, and the answer may not be revealed until after the convention.

Trump held a campaign rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, on the evening of the 13th local time. This was his last campaign event before winning the party nomination. The local area is very close to Senator Vance’s hometown. Trump won the state in 2016 but lost to Biden in 2020.
