Anarchy in Bangladesh In the background, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup. However, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that he rejected this proposal.

The Women’s Twenty20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in October this year. However, questions have been raised regarding the security there. Therefore, ICC has been forced to consider other options for hosting.

ICC has asked BCCI about organizing Women’s Twenty20 World Cup. However, I categorically refused. We will have monsoon during that time (in October). Also next year Women’s ODI World Cup will be held in India. So I was not keen on hosting two World Cups in a row,” explained Shah.
