Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi MP donated one month’s salary to KPCC’s fundraising campaign as part of the rehabilitation activities of Wayanad landslide victims. KPCC General Secretary M. Liju informed.
Rahul Gandhi, who visited the disaster site, announced that 100 houses will be built and provided under the leadership of the Congress to bring the people of Wayanad who lost their homes and livelihood back to survival. KPCC has taken over his announcement and is carrying out necessary activities including fund collection. As part of that, a mobile app called Stand with Wayanad-INC was prepared for fundraising.
The progress of Wayanad rehabilitation works KPCC President K. Sudhakaran MP directly evaluates. Party constituents, subsidiary organizations and cells, MPs and MLAs have fixed and notified the amount to be transferred. Donations can be transferred directly to Congress workers, supporters and leaders through the mobile app. Once the donation is received in the bank account, the donor will receive a digital receipt with the signature of the KPCC President and Leader of the Opposition and a direct message via SMS.
There is also a facility to print the digital receipt through the app. KPCC has formed a nine-member committee to spearhead the fund-raising campaign and reconstruction activities. Apart from this, sub-committees have also been formed at the district level. KPCC has exempted Mandal Committees from Wayanad district where the disaster took place from fundraising activities.
