President expresses concern about space debris

New Delhi : President Draupadi Murmu on Friday expressed concern about space debris. She said that space debris is increasing as more and more satellites are being launched into space. The President also praised ISRO for aiming to make future space missions zero-waste by 2030.

Murmu was speaking on the occasion of the first National Space Day, marking the first anniversary of the landing of India’s Chandrayaan-3 project. The event held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi was attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chairman S Somnath and engineers, scientists.
