Hunter Biden, the second son of US President Joe Biden, appeared in the US District Court in Los Angeles on the 5th and pleaded guilty to nine charges, including tax evasion. Sentencing will be handed down on December 16th, US media reported. Hunter had denied all charges at his guilty plea in January of this year, but has now reversed his stance.

According to the indictment, Hunter failed to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019, and used the money for drugs, prostitution, and luxury hotel stays. At the time, he was an executive of a Chinese investment fund and a Ukrainian company, and received huge compensation. (Kyodo News)
