UK ∙ This year’s Onam celebrations of Hereford Malayali Association ‘HEMA’, the oldest and largest Malayali organization in Hereford, has concluded. The program started at 10 am on Saturday, September 21 and continued till 9 pm. Hema President Sajan Joseph inaugurated the Onam celebrations at St. Mary’s School Stadium.

A public gathering, award ceremony and various art programs were staged. UUKMA (Union of UK Malayalee Association) National President Dr. Biju Peringathara was the guest of honour. Hema Secretary Jins Varikanikal made the Onam celebration announcement.

Pookalam, Pulikali, Maveli Ezhunnallat, Ghosayatra, Cultural Conference, Vadam Vali, Uriyadi, Mega Thiruvathira, Hema Kala Pratibha and various folk song mela performed by Praseetha Chalakudy and her group ‘Atta Kalam’ were held.
