Police Reveal ‘Night Patrol’ Mode Regarding Sexual Abuse of Female Students in Bekasi

Two people with the initials S (52) and MH (29) have been named as suspects in the case molestation female students at an Islamic boarding school in Bekasi Regency. The police revealed that there was a ‘night patrol’ mode behind the perpetrator’s depraved actions.

Bekasi Metro Police Deputy Chief AKPB Saufi Salamun said S and MH were father and son as the managers of the Islamic boarding school. The two of them are known to often carry out patrols at night by knocking on the door of each student’s room before carrying out their lecherous acts.

“The perpetrator carried out his actions using night patrol mode and knocked on the bedroom doors one by one and carried out the action,” Saufi told reporters, Tuesday (1/10/2024).

Saufi said suspects S and MH committed lewd acts against students who were taking part in Koran recitation activities. The perpetrator’s actions were revealed when one of the victims reported it to his parents.

“We have arrested the perpetrator and are currently in the process of further investigation. We deeply regret that this immoral act occurred in a place that should be a place for religious learning. The police will act firmly in handling this case so that justice for the victims can be upheld ,” said Saufi.

The two perpetrators have now been named as suspects. Both were charged under Article 82 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning child protection.

“The minimum imprisonment is five years and the maximum is 15 years and the maximum fine is IDR 5,000,000,000 (IDR 5 billion),” he said.

Previously, father and son with the initials S and MHS, owned an Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in Karanghappi, Bekasi Regencysuspected of molesting three female students, has now been arrested. The two of them are father and son who manage the Islamic boarding school.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indardi said activities at the Islamic boarding school have now also been stopped. This step was taken because many victims did not dare to report it. He assessed that the victims felt embarrassed and afraid.

“This case has brought activities at the Islamic boarding school to a complete halt, with many victims not daring to report this incident because they feel afraid and embarrassed,” said Ade Ary in his written statement, Saturday (28/9).
