Xie Mingyou said that regardless of “tower“South 400” and “Fucheng 300”, Tainan has accumulated rich heritage and has many time symbols. Five musical seniors migrated from Tainan to Taiwan and overseas. The wandering journey was full of beauty, hardship, ties and partings, all of which turned into nutrients for music creation. They mixed and re-created foreign songs, leading a group of musicians. The pop music trend of an entire generation has left classic folk songs and rich musical cultural assets to the world.
Cultural Director Hsieh Shi-yuan said that Tainan was once the center of Taiwan’s pop music industry. The five kings recorded many popular records here and spread their classic songs to every corner of Taiwan, shaping the common memory of Taiwanese people. Today, Tainan is still a popular place in Taiwanese. An important base for music development.

The exhibition uses a large number of wavy surfaces and penetrating objects to lead the audience to travel through the waves of the times. They can read the chronology of the times when the five kings were active on the music stage, their creative process and their wandering footprints in performances, music creation albums, vinyl records, and sheet music. and other objects, and also collected a rare photographic album released by Huang Min under her real name Huang Dongkun. The exhibition area also has interactive installation units such as recording old songs in a recording studio.

“Wandering Song” has also organized two heavyweight Taiwanese pop concerts. The concert will be held at the Tainan Cultural Center on July 13, with the theme of “Entering the City”. It will be performed by Xie Mingyou and the Van Band, Wang Caihua, Da Zhi, Xiao Ren, and Ah Ji. Performances by powerful singers such as GLOJ, Ke Mingxun, and Ah Qiaomian presented the evolution and diversified development of Tainan pop music; the “Leaving Hometown” concert at the Xinying Cultural Center on July 20 featured Liu Fuzhu, Wenxiang, Hsieh Mingyou and Van The orchestra, Fang Shunji, Cao Yawen and other three generations of singers, old, middle and young, sang, linking the lives and representative songs of the five kings who left their hometowns. Tickets for both games are free.
The special exhibition of “Songs of Wandering” is located at Xu Shi Music Library and will be on view from June 28 to November 10.
