Where can I find leather?

Pals with leather drop chance

Similar to pal sap or bones, you can get leather by catching or killing certain pals. If you want to level up faster at the same time, you should prefer catching the creatures, as this will give you many more experience points. Luckily, there are a lot of Pals in the game world who can potentially drop leather. The following Pals have a high chance of dropping leather:

  • Foxparks
  • Fuck
  • Rooby
  • Vixy
  • Rushoar
  • Nox
  • Fuddler
  • Direhowl
  • Mossanda Lux
  • Melpaca
  • Eikthyrdeer
  • Nitewing
  • Ribbuny
  • Chillet
  • Univolt

If you want to get leather quickly, it is recommended to track down low-level and high-spread Pals. Foxparks, Fuack and Direhowl are particularly suitable for this because their habitats border one another.

Foxparks’ location is not far from the starting area. Simply follow the path away from the starting area towards the west and you will immediately encounter several fiery Pals. Further west you will meet a lot of Fuacks and behind their habitat there is a wasteland where mainly Direhowls spawn.

If you have already saved up some gold and urgently need leather, you can make a stop at the “Small Village” fast travel point. There is one here Dealerwho, among other resources, also sells you leather for 150 gold coins.

Why do I need leather?

You need leather primarily for making saddle harness or armor. The resource is still relevant in the late game, which is why it pays to stock up.

The Rushoar saddle (Level 6) is the first craftable technology that allows you to ride a Rushoar. This way you can travel around the game world a little faster. The Foxparks tableware (Level 6) doesn’t let you ride a Foxparks (it’s far too small for that), but you can use the partner ability “Flamethrower” if you have it in your team.

Leather is also important for making armor. The Fur armor (Level 12), for example, strengthens your defense, which slightly reduces the damage dealt to you. These will follow later, for example Heat-resistant fur armor (Level 16) and the Cold-resistant fur armor (Level 18), which protect you better from the respective temperatures.
