A delegation of National Industrial Corridor Corporation Limited (NICDC) will visit Kerala next month to discuss the next steps after getting the approval of the Union Cabinet for the Palakkad industrial city project. It is expected that a favorable decision regarding the share to be given by the Center for land acquisition will be taken after the visit.
The Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation formed jointly by the Center and the State will hold a meeting and discuss matters including tender procedures. It is expected that the global tender process for infrastructure development on the acquired land can be conducted within three months. APM Muhammad Hanish, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, and Santosh Kosi, MD, KINFRA held a discussion with Minister P. Rajeev regarding the measures to be taken by Kerala in the projects. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan instructed the state government to complete the measures efficiently.
KINFRA, the implementing agency, is gearing up to complete the land acquisition as soon as possible. I think it will be finished before December. About Rs 100 crore will be allocated through KIFB immediately for land acquisition. This amount will be used to acquire 101 acres of land in Pudusherry Central Village itself. 44 crores had been sanctioned for the acquisition of 31 acres of land in Pudusherry Central Village. Rs 375 crore is required to acquire 240 acres in Pudusherry West Village and Rs 17 crore to acquire 12 acres in Kannambra.
