Pakistani officials said on Tuesday, June 11 (June 22) that the security forces of the country killed 11 militants during a night operation on a former hideout of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
This military operation took place two days after a roadside bomb exploded in this area, killing seven Pakistani soldiers.
The Pakistan Army said in a statement that the attack took place based on intelligence information in the area of Lake Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to this statement, this retaliatory attack took place after the explosion of a bomb on Kanar Jadah in this area, as a result of which seven Pakistani soldiers were killed.
The Pakistani military has said that if the operation continues, it will “eliminate any other terrorist found in the region”. The Pakistan Army has said that its forces are “determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism in Pakistan.”
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the Kanar Jadah bomb blast. However, it is likely that Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) will be blamed for this attack. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is closely allied with the Afghan Taliban, but the group is separate from the Afghan Taliban.
After that, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan increased its attacks in Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban will once again impose on Afghanistan on August 15, 2021.
In most cases, the Pakistani authorities accuse the Taliban of providing shelter to the fighters of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, an accusation that the Taliban has repeatedly denied. The Pakistani Taliban claims that it does not use Afghanistan’s soil for attacks in Pakistan.
The states of Khyber-Pashtun and Baluchistan are among the restive states of Pakistan, which have recently witnessed almost daily attacks by armed rebels, which are mainly targeted by the security forces of the country.
This violence is mainly carried out by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch fighters. The Khorasan branch of ISIS is also active in these two states.
In 2023, about 500 security forces and about 500 civilians were killed in the attacks of extremists in Pakistan. Pakistani officials say that these attacks are being directed by commanders and fighters of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan from their shelters in Afghanistan, but the Afghan Taliban say that they will not allow anyone to use Afghanistan’s soil against another country.
