Philippine authorities busted an illegal online gaming hub and arrested more than 150 foreigners during raids on August 31.

In a statement, the Bureau of Immigration said investigators found dozens of people engaged in illegal activities in makeshift workspaces set up inside a resort on Cebu island.

Winston Cascio, spokesman for the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), said authorities had identified “at least three fraud hubs” run by Chinese, Indonesians and Burmese nationals, and that the raids were carried out at the request of the Indonesian embassy.

The local newspaper Cebu Daily News reported that a total of 162 foreigners were found in one hotel, and were believed to be operating a fraud hub: 83 Chinese, 70 Indonesians, six Burmese, one Malaysian, and two Taiwanese.

According to the Immigration Bureau, arrested foreigners will be temporarily detained before being deported.
