South Korea’s military said North Korea has again launched what appears to be balloons filled with garbage into South Korea, the third consecutive day and the seventh time since last month.
According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea launched what appeared to be a balloon with garbage hanging from it toward South Korea just after 9 p.m. on the 26th.
Since last month, North Korea has been releasing balloons with garbage attached to them as a “countermeasure” to South Korean defector groups that have been scattering balloons containing leaflets critical of the regime.
It has been flown for three consecutive days since the 24th of this month, making this the seventh time.
In response, the South Korean military has warned that it is ready to again broadcast propaganda aimed at North Korea using loudspeakers installed near the military demarcation line.
