South Korea’s military announced that North Korea launched a ballistic missile this morning, which appears to have failed.
According to the South Korean military, North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan from near the capital, Pyongyang, at around 5:30 a.m. today, but it is believed to have failed.
North Korea again sent balloons filled with garbage into South Korea last night.
Since last month, North Korea has been releasing balloons with garbage attached to them as a “countermeasure” to South Korean defector groups attaching leaflets critical of the regime to the balloons and scattering them. This marks the sixth time.
The balloons also flew over Incheon Airport, causing aircraft takeoffs and landings to be suspended for around three hours in the early hours of this morning.
North Korea has released balloons for a second day in a row, with South Korea’s military warning that it is ready to again send propaganda broadcasts toward North Korea, and that “it all depends on North Korea’s actions.”
