New track, same winners at the Solmotion Cup

New track, same winners at the Solmotion Cup

This time, the 3.4-kilometer route through challenging and partly mountainous terrain left the area of the State Garden Show. Via Elitz, the route went past the observation tower and across a meadow, which meant that some runners reached their limits in the high temperatures.

Fuchs and Höchenberger again unbeatable

However, that didn’t matter for the fastest women, the German marathon runner-up, Lisa Fuchs (Sport Haschko Team), and the fastest man, Rene Höchenberger (TSV Dietmannsried). In their usual superior manner, both won the overall rankings and extended their lead in the Solmotion Cup rankings. As expected, the number of participants was a little lower than in the first race, with 211 finishers. “We already have over 400 registrations for the last race on September 19,” said Christian Roth, head of organization for the Solmotion Cup.

SG Niederwangen leads the team ranking

Carla and Moritz Roth from the organizer SG Niederwangen, which entered a total of 38 runners, also won again in the school category. With class winners Stephanie Wunderle (age 40) and Lorenz Zimmerer (age 30) and third place for Thomas Nuber, the SGN leads the team ranking and the club ranking. Other class winners were Natalie Rauh (elite, female) and Thomas Kotissek (age 40), who both started for TV Kempten.

This was once again a picture-perfect event.

Kai-Uwe Klunker, SGN Board Member

“Overall, it was once again a picture-book event that represented running in the region and offered the many running enthusiasts a great platform to experience sport and the atmosphere of the State Garden Show together,” said Kai-Uwe Klunker, chairman of SG Niederwangen.
