On the 18th, the Shimane Susanoo Magic announced that they have reached an agreement with Kawasaki Brave Thunders player Yuji Nomi for the 2024-25 season.
During the 2019-20 season while attending Aoyama Gakuin University, Nomi played as a special designated player for Shimane, and this will mark his first return to his former club in five seasons.
The 27-year-old Nomi, a native of Kanagawa Prefecture, is a 182 cm tall point guard and shooting guard. In the 2019-20 season, he played in 11 games and averaged 1.5 points.
He then played for Niigata Albirex BB and Kawasaki Brave Thunders. In his second season with Kawasaki this season, he played in 46 games, averaging 2.7 points and 2 assists per game.
Narumi made the following comment on the Shimane Susanoo Magic’s official website:
“I am Nomi Yuujin, and I will be joining the Shimane Susanoo Magic. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the president and all the team members for giving me this opportunity.
This will be my first time playing for Shimane since the 2019-20 season, when I was a special designated player. I am very happy to be able to play basketball again for Shimane, the first professional team I have ever joined.
I will play with all my might to achieve the team’s goals, as well as to further my personal growth and achieve my own goals. Thank you to everyone in Shimane for your continued support!”
