Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on the 1st (local time) that he would retaliate against Iran’s missile attack on his country.

According to AP and Reuters, Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the beginning of the security meeting that day, “Iran made a big mistake tonight and will pay the price.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized, “The Iranian regime does not understand our determination to protect itself and our determination to retaliate against our enemies.”

Iran previously fired about 180 missiles targeting Israel this evening.

Iran’s elite military organization, the Revolutionary Guard, announced in a statement that day that it “fired a ballistic missile targeting an important military and security target in the center of the occupied territories (Israel).”

The Revolutionary Guard defined the missile launches as retaliation for the deaths of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and the Revolutionary Guard’s deputy commander for operations, Abbas Nilforushan. They were all blown up one after another in Israeli attacks.

In particular, Iran’s attack that day took place at a time when Israel began ground military operations targeting southern Lebanon, the stronghold of the pro-Iranian armed faction Hezbollah.

It has been observed that Iran has been under considerable pressure to take action as the leader of these ‘Axis of Resistance’ forces, as the Palestinian pro-Iran armed political faction Hamas and Hezbollah have been subjected to intensive attacks by Israel.
