NCSoft has confirmed a plan to establish three game studios and one artificial intelligence (AI) technology development division as subsidiaries.

NCSoft held an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting at the Pangyo R&D Center in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 28th and approved a plan to create four new subsidiaries through physical division. The new company includes game studios such as First Spark Games, which is responsible for developing ‘Throne and Liberty (TL)’, Big Fire Games, which is developing the shooting game ‘LLL’, and Rudeus Games, which is developing the strategy game ‘Tactan’. There are four in total, including three and NCAI, an AI technology company. The launch date is February 1st of next year.

The head of each new subsidiary will be the head of the business organization. NCSoft TL Camp Captain Choi Moon-young, who oversaw TL development and service, will serve as the CEO of First Spark Games, and Bae Jae-hyun, LLL Seed Seed, will serve as the CEO of Big Fire Games. Seo Min-seok, head of Taktan development, Project G Seed Seed, will serve as CEO of Rudeus Games, and Lee Yeon-soo, head of NC Research, will serve as CEO of NCAI.

Park Byeong-moo, co-CEO of NCSoft, who held this extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, said, “We will transition to an independent development studio system to create an innovative development culture with speed, flexibility, and creativity and actively discover new global intellectual property rights (IP).” Regarding the sale of the office building in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which is being promoted to increase capital, he explained, “Results may be released in the first quarter of next year.”
