Naver has made new investments in two U.S.-based artificial intelligence (AI) startups.
Naver’s technology startup investment and support project, ‘D2SF (D2 Startup Factory),’ announced on the 3rd that it will invest hundreds of millions of won in ‘Claydis,’ a 3D content production startup based on generative AI, and ‘YesPlease,’ a fashion-specialized multimodal AI development startup. Both companies are preparing for full-scale business by implementing the latest AI technology into competitive products.
Cladis has developed an AI solution that creates high-quality 3D characters. It plans to launch a formal solution within the year, targeting small and medium-sized game studios. YesPlease has developed a multimodal AI model optimized for fashion product search and recommendation. It is characterized by high matching accuracy as it is a multimodal AI that has learned text, images, and styles. It is expected to see high demand on global fashion platforms.
Yang Sang-hwan, head of Naver D2SF Center, explained, “In the rapidly changing AI industry, it is important to quickly capture and implement the technologies that the market needs,” and “We decided to invest because it is an area where we expect our presence in the global market to grow.”
