Nakanishi Seisakusho (Ikuno-ku, Osaka), a manufacturer and seller of commercial kitchen equipment with a manufacturing plant in Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture, has created a stainless steel object featuring a goldfish, the city’s symbol, and donated it to the city to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Yamatokoriyama City’s incorporation.

The object is made of two spheres, 23 cm and 11 cm in diameter, engraved with a goldfish and the city’s 70th anniversary logo. The company was responsible for all of the design, sheet metal processing, welding, and polishing.

The company’s Nara Factory Manufacturing Manager, Hiroshi Ebisu, said, “Our employees folded a single sheet of stainless steel and made it over about six months. I hope many people will notice it,” and presented the list to Mayor Kiyoshi Ueda. Ueda expressed his joy, saying, “I would like to express my respect and gratitude for this crystallization of advanced technology. I would like to display it as a symbol to convey goldfish culture to children.”

The object is installed in the Goldfish Library in the City Hall Communication Building, which houses books related to goldfish.
