[Ta Kung Pao News]According to Bloomberg and Reuters, sources revealed that American billionaire Musk has donated “a large sum of money” to the “American Political Action Committee” (America PAC), an organization that supports Trump’s return to the White House. The specific amount of Musk’s donation is not yet known.
In May 2022, Musk said that he had voted for all Democratic candidates in the past elections, but “next time I will vote for the Republican Party.” He accused the Democratic Party of “division and hatred” and publicly mocked Biden for being “too old” and “unable to communicate effectively with voters.”
In March of this year, Trump met with Musk and other donors. Musk posted on the social platform X at the time: “I want to make it very clear that I will not donate to any presidential candidate in the United States.”
The Wall Street Journal quoted people familiar with the matter in May as saying that Trump had discussed with Musk that if he were to return to the White House, Musk might take on a role such as a policy advisor. Musk later denied the report.
Republican billionaires Griffin and Singer, who have criticized Trump, recently met with Trump to discuss donations to his campaign. Griffin is the founder of multinational hedge fund company Citadel Investments. Singer is the founder of Elliott Asset Management. Sources revealed that the two have not “made any commitments yet.”
