The NHK TV drama series “Omusubi” starring actress Kanna Hashimoto will start on the 30th. The main character Yui Yoneda (Hashimoto), who was born in 1989, is powerfully moving through the turbulent Heisei and Reiwa eras, connecting people’s hearts and the future as a nutritionist, while embracing the “gal spirit” of valuing her individuality at all times. A youthful graffiti drawing. Nonji Nemoto, who was in charge of writing the script for a morning drama for the first time, revealed the thoughts behind the work and characters, as well as the story behind the creation process. The pattern will be published in two parts.

〈Part 2〉 “The gal was walking through the “lost 30 years” on her shoulders.”

Highly praised comedienne Kanna Hashimoto

–I think the character will change depending on who plays the main character, but assuming that Mr. Hashimoto will play the role, how do you plan to portray Yui?

“The heroine, Yui Yoneda, is a life-sized woman who is not always positive and loves to eat, even though she is worried, angry, and complains. Ms. Hashimoto also eats deliciously and is energetic. He is a person with great potential, and I feel like Hashimoto-san played the role perfectly and that they are gradually merging together.”

–What are your thoughts on Mr. Hashimoto’s comedienne performance?

“That’s wonderful. This is the first time we’ve worked together, and I’ve always thought that he’s very good at making characters stand out and has a great sense of comedy. The tone and pauses are perfect. I guess you could call it a laugh line. When I sat in on the first week’s book reading, I thought it would be okay for Mr. Hashimoto to include more and more funny lines.”

The legendary gal is Riisa Naka

–What is your impression of Riisa Naka, who plays Yui’s older sister and legendary gal Ayumu?

“When I worked with Naka-san on a late-night drama called “Fruit Delivery Service” (TV Tokyo, 2019), I thought “She’s a great actress,” and Naka-san was the only one who would play the legendary gal role. I don’t think there will be any. I haven’t seen the whole thing yet, but it really exceeded my expectations, and I’m so happy that it was not only an interesting play, but also a play that touched my heart.”
