More than 80 people have been killed in two airstrikes on a refugee camp in the northern town of Jabalia, the health official of Hamas, the Palestinian group that controls the Gaza Strip, said on November 18. Damage included a school run by the United Nations as a shelter for displaced Palestinians.
A health official told AFP that the pre-dawn attack on a school in the refugee camp left “at least 50 people” dead.
A video posted to social media and verified by AFP shows bodies covered in blood and dust inside a school in Jabaliya, the largest refugee camp in Gaza.
Another building in the camp was attacked, killing 32 people, including 19 children.
The Israeli army would only comment by saying it was investigating “the incident in the Jabaliya area.” (c)AFP/Mai Yaghi
