Miyazaki Prefecture’s regular June session of the prefectural assembly reached its final day on the 25th, passing a general account supplementary budget proposal that included funds for measures to combat rising fuel prices, and closed.

At the plenary session on the 25th, the chairpersons of each standing committee reported the results of their review of the bills, after which a vote was taken and 15 bills were passed, including the general account supplementary budget proposal totaling over 2.04 billion yen.

The supplementary budget includes measures to combat rising fuel prices for transportation and logistics companies, as well as support projects for farmers who have been affected by the deterioration of water quality in the river that runs through the city of Ebino due to volcanic activity at Mount Io, which is affecting rice cultivation.

Also on the 25th, two bills proposed by members of the Diet were submitted, including a draft opinion calling for further promotion of disaster prevention, mitigation, and national resilience, and both were passed.
