Miyazaki City’s regular June session of the city council came to an end on the 26th, passing a bill to amend the ordinance to raise water rates and other measures.
At the plenary session on the 26th, 21 proposals were passed by majority vote, including the general account supplementary budget proposal totaling approximately 4.498 billion yen.
The proposed budget includes 115 million yen for a project to renovate the exterior walls of the Miyazaki Science Museum, and 13 million yen for a vaccination expansion project to set up temporary vaccination sites for the HPV vaccine, which prevents cervical cancer, in commercial facilities.
The city also passed an ordinance amendment bill to raise water rates from April next year, marking the first price increase in nine years.
In addition, a resolution was passed to bestow the title of honorary citizen to former Miyazaki City Mayor Tsumura Shigemitsu.
