A man was run over and killed by an incoming train at the main train station in Cologne. The federal police told the German Press Agency that he fell onto the tracks and was run over by an approaching ICE train. The analysis of the video surveillance on the track showed that the 53-year-old was running on the track and was bumped into by another man, causing him to fall onto the track.
Emergency services took the man who had been run over from the track area and resuscitated him, but this was unsuccessful, said the spokeswoman. The other man who bumped into him was also on the track. However, since the incident was classified as an accident, there were no further consequences for him. The tracks at the main station were reopened shortly after 7 p.m. However, there were still delays in rail traffic afterwards.
