Strategic Security

•Putin said that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed between Russia and North Korea stipulates that when one party is invaded by another country, the other party must provide assistance; it also does not rule out the possibility of developing military and technological cooperation with North Korea.

•Kim Jong-un described the treaty as a peace-making and defensive document that would serve as a driving force to accelerate the establishment of a new multipolar world.

Ukraine

•Kim Jong-un said that Russia plays an important role in maintaining the world’s strategic balance, and North Korea will unconditionally support all Russian policies, including fully supporting Russia’s special military operations in Ukraine to safeguard its sovereignty, security interests and territorial integrity.

•Putin said that Russia highly appreciates North Korea’s support for Russia, including on issues such as Ukraine, and that Russia and North Korea jointly oppose the imperial hegemonic policies of the United States and its vassal states against Russia.

Relations between the two countries

•Kim Jong-un described that Russia-North Korea relations are entering a new period of great prosperity, even better than the Soviet-North Korean relations in the last century, and believed that the friendship between the two countries will be strengthened overall during Putin’s visit.
