Lotte Engineering & Construction announced on the 30th that it has acquired the international standard ‘ISO 19650-2:2018’ certification in the BIM (Building Information Modeling) field from BSI (Royal Standards Institute).
BIM is a technology that implements information from the entire construction process into a three-dimensional (3D) model. ‘ISO 19650’, which becomes the international standard for BIM, specifies internal documents (BIM standards, processes), project performance performance, and It can be obtained only after passing objective verification and screening, such as an interview.
As the primary contractor, Lotte Engineering & Construction has been internationally recognized for its global-level BIM management system, BIM performance capabilities, standardized technology and quality, and professional technical manpower capabilities throughout the entire construction project process from bidding to design and construction.
Lotte Engineering & Construction is making efforts to spread BIM across the company by forming a company-wide consultative body with business divisions, management, and support departments centered around the Technology Research Institute, and has recently been expanding the introduction of a cloud system to build and utilize a construction information database. In February of this year, we signed a business agreement with Autodesk, a global BIM leader, and are collaborating on the discovery of design automation AI technology based on BIM data.
A Lotte E&C official said, “Acquiring this ‘ISO 19650’ certification means that Lotte E&C’s BIM capabilities and operational processes have been officially recognized. We will continue to strengthen our technological competitiveness through continuous innovation and quality management.” .
