LG Chem is working with Hanssem to target the market for eco -friendly kitchen furniture.

LG Chem recently announced on the 24th that it signed a MOU with Hanssem at Hanssem Songpa, Seoul.

Under this agreement, LG Chem provides Hanssem with acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) material, which is a high -functional plastic based on vegetable raw materials, and Hanssem uses it as a surface material for the kitchen furniture ‘Ecla’, which is scheduled to be released in the first half of this year.

ASA is mainly used in household furniture because it has excellent heat resistance and various climatic conditions. In particular, discoloration does not occur easily, so it is suitable for kitchen furniture and built -in cabinet.

Koh Young -nam, director of Hanssem Research Institute, said, “Most furniture materials are difficult to recycle, and they are often incinerated when discarded, and carbon emissions are inevitably increased in the process.

“ASA will bring new changes to the furniture market,” said Kim Steven, LG Chem ABS business manager.

LETZERO, mentioned by Kim, is an eco -friendly material brand launched by LG Chem in 2021. LG Chem has developed 100% biodegradable products made by using the ASA and the world’s first international certification system, which is certified as an ISCC Plus (PLUS), which is used by using glucose and waste glycerol.
