[Ta Kung Pao]Chief Executive John Lee met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Abu Kuleba, who was visiting Hong Kong yesterday afternoon. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister proposed to discuss trade and investment opportunities with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
In response to media inquiries, a government spokesman said that Mr Lee meets with representatives from different countries and regions from time to time in response to work needs. During the meeting, Mr Lee introduced Hong Kong’s current economic situation, business opportunities and market potential. He explained at the meeting that the spirit of the rule of law is highly respected in Hong Kong and is of vital importance to Hong Kong.
He pointed out that people in Hong Kong are fully protected under the law, and the SAR government has taken all measures in accordance with the law to ensure the safety of people in Hong Kong. The SAR government implements and strictly implements the sanctions decided by the United Nations Security Council. Any action taken by the SAR strictly abides by Hong Kong law.
