Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China and Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia
Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, will invite his Chinese counterpart to Beijing to discuss the Ukraine war and deepen cooperation between China and Russia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the talks between Lavrov and Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, will include bilateral cooperation.
Reuters reported last month that Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to Beijing in May for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
China and Russia in February 2022, a few days before the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, announced an unlimited cooperation between the two countries.
The United States sees China as its biggest rival and Russia as its biggest threat.
According to information from Beijing, trade between China and Russia will reach 240.1 billion dollars in 2023, which shows an increase of 26.3 percent compared to the previous year.
During the same period, trade between China and the United States experienced an 11.6 percent decline to $664.5 billion.
Putin proposed a ceasefire in Ukraine earlier this year, but the United States rejected the proposal after mediating the talks.
Russia says that any peace with Ukraine should be based on the acceptance of the current realities and the country’s control over the eastern regions of Ukraine and without any security agreement with Europe.
But Ukraine says that the war will continue until the last Russian soldier leaves the country.
However, Vladimir Zelensky says that without the help of Western countries, Kishore will not be able to defend itself.
