New York∙ The Literary Association of North America (LANA) is organizing the Literary Festival on November 1, 2 and 3 in the City of Letters, New York. According to the organizers, Malayali literature lovers from different regions of America and Canada will participate in this meeting.
Prominent Malayalam writer E. Santosh Kumar participates in this literary festival. Dr. Chandrahasan, Dr. J. Devika, Dr. Nishi Leela George, Stalina etc. will also participate in various sessions.
The inaugural session will be held on November 1 at 6 pm. Then Kaviarang. There will be an opportunity to present your own poems. Discussions on Cinema Current and New Trends in Visuals. , actor and director Dr. Chandradasan will lead the discussion.
On November 2, former Lana activists M. S. Tribute in memory of T Namboothiri, Abraham Thekemuri and Renee Mambalam. Then a discussion on Poetry, Gender Equality and Translation led by Dr.J Devika. Comprehensive discussions on contemporary Malayalam short stories, American Malayalam stories, story seeds, soul conflicts in writing, feedback from story writers. Nirmitabuddhi – Essay presentation on compositional possibilities and doubts, travel and literature, the American future of Malayalam writing, and political engagements in writing.
Discussion on topics such as aesthetics and language of modern novels, exile environments in Malayalam novels. Media thinking on political correctness and shadow writing in new media. Closing session in the evening.
8 senior members of LANA will be honored. Then book releases and Bharatakala & K. L. Comedy drama presented by S. Dallas will also be staged. Under the leadership of LANA President Shankar Mana, Manohar Thomas (Chairman), J . Mathews (Vice Chair), Jacob John (General Convener), Samsi Kodumon (Treasurer), Nirmala Joseph and Santhosh Pala will lead the New York Regional Committee.
