Sequential release starting from Korea in the first half of next year
Kia unveiled the brand’s first pickup truck model, ‘The Kia Tasman’, at the ‘2024 Jeddah International Motor Show’ held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on the 29th (local time).
Kia explained that it completed a simple and strong exterior design by taking into account the tendency of potential pickup customers to pursue practical value. He also emphasized that it has a spacious and comfortable interior, highly usable loading space, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
The loading space is 1512 mm long, 1572 mm wide (wheelhouse 1186 mm), and 540 mm high, allowing up to 700 kg of cargo to be loaded into the storage space of about 1173 liters, the largest in its class.
Tasman combines a gasoline 2.5 turbo engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission to produce a maximum output of 281 horsepower (PS) and a maximum torque of 43.0 kgf·m. By placing the intake port at the top inside the side fender rather than the front, it can move at 7 km per hour in water 800 mm deep and has the ability to tow up to 3,500 kg.
Kia plans to sequentially launch the Tasman in Korea, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa in the first half of next year.
