Kakao announced on the 26th that it would collaborate with SCK Company, the domestic operator of Starbucks, to enhance the benefits of the Kakao Talk student ID card used in universities. KakaoTalk Student ID is a student identification service provided by KakaoTalk Wallet.

Users who authenticate as college or graduate school students with their KakaoTalk student ID on the Starbucks mobile app can receive a ‘Starbucks Student Card’ that can be used for one year. This card provides a 50% discount coupon for three popular Starbucks drinks, including Grapefruit Honey Black Tea. A 30% discount coupon for manufactured beverages that can be used every Tuesday afternoon is also provided. Two coupons that allow you to increase your drink to Venti size for free are provided once a month.

Kakao decorated the Starbucks Student Card with Kakao Friends character Chun-sik wearing a jacket. Kim Gwi-yeon, Kakao platform service performance leader, said, “We will continue to discuss ways to collaborate with Starbucks to introduce more attractive benefits and services to college students and various users.”
