According to Osaka Prefectural Police, the perpetrator beat and kicked the victim into the Dotonbori River (Namba area, Osaka, Japan), causing the victim to die on the evening of August 2. The perpetrator was present with the victim, drinking alcohol near the scene right before the incident.
Previously, on the evening of August 2, a video clip appeared on social networks believed to have been filmed by a Vietnamese person about an incident where a young man assaulted and kicked another young man into the river in Osaka’s Namba commercial area. .
In a dispatch sent to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka on August 3, Osaka Prefectural Police said the victim was TTA, born September 15, 1999, Vietnamese nationality, passport number C6798205. TTA was murdered at 8:20 p.m. on August 2 at the Ebisu Bridge riverside pedestrian area (in Chuo district, Osaka city). The victim was beaten and thrown into the river. The rescue team took the victim to the emergency room but could not survive and the victim died at 9:21 p.m. on August 2.
Immediately after the incident, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka discussed with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Osaka Prefectural Police Agency to request these agencies to direct the investigation and soon catch the perpetrator. to be tried before the law. In addition, TTA’s relatives in Vietnam were contacted to inform about the incident and encouraged the family to calmly wait for official investigation information from the Japanese police, and affirmed that they would continue their efforts.
