Former Indian player Dodda Ganesh lashed out at Indian pace bowler Arshdeep Singh. Ganesh’s criticism was after the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka. He questioned a shot that Arshdeep tried to play when he needed a run to win. Chasing 231 runs, India scored 230 runs and all were out, thus the match was tied.
When the team score reached 230, Shivam Dubey was dismissed and Arshdeep Charit tried to sweep Asalanka with a slog sweep, but the ball did not hit the bat and was caught in front of the wicket. Dodda Ganesh is questioning the star’s sense of competition. He also wrote on his X handle that Gambhir will not like this.
“We cannot expect many runs from the batsmen. But all cricketers should have at least some sense of competition. That shot of Arshdeep by Arshdeep will never please Gambhir,’ Dodda Ganesh tweeted.
He congratulated Sri Lanka for drawing the match. Both the teams shared the points in the first match of the three-match series. The second match of the three-match series will be played tomorrow. The first ODI was held in R. The match will be played at the Premadasa Stadium.
