Sharing at the conference, Mr. Ngo Hung Dung, Director of Tan An Seafood Joint Stock Company, said that in decades of investing in aquaculture, he has never seen a storm cause as much damage as Storm No. 3. (Yagi). Nearly 4,000 tons of oysters are almost ready to be harvested, but there are none left. The business could not find anything at sea. Not only at sea, businesses with 2 farming facilities on the mainland were also completely damaged.
After repairing the housing and living quarters for officials, the company continues to restore the electrical system and infrastructure, then consider a plan to restore production. The difficulty for businesses is that even if they want to hire workers who pay 2-2.5 million/day, they cannot find workers.
According to Mr. Ngo Hung Dung, winter is approaching. If aquaculture is slow, the growth potential of livestock is almost non-existent. If you cannot take advantage of this time to reproduce, the risks and losses will be greater. The company has also received sharing and encouragement from aquaculture material suppliers.
Mr. Ngo Hung Dung also recommended that the authorities need to quickly support the people; Quickly bring short-term farming species to the people to create a livelihood as soon as possible, such as seaweed, oysters, or some types of short-term sea fish.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien highly appreciated the support of organizations, individuals and businesses.
