WASHINGTON (Kyodo) – On September 30, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations specialized agency, released a report on energy consumption in the IT industry. Google’s parent company Alphabet, Amazon.com, and Microsoft alone used a total of 103 terawatt hours of electricity in 2023, which is equivalent to the power of the Philippines.
