GAZA – Hamas has asked countries and organizations Arab and Muslims to condemn the arson Al-Qur’an which is done in Gaza. Hamas also asked them to express their anger towards Israeli forces for burning a copy of the Quran in a mosque.
“The burning of copies of the Quran and the desecration and destruction of mosques confirm the extremist nature of this entity and its hateful criminal army and their fascist behavior towards anything related to the identity and sanctity of our nation,” the Palestinian group said in a statement on Saturday (8/24/2024).
Al Jazeera Arabic has aired footage, obtained from Israeli army cameras, showing them tearing pages from the Muslim holy book and burning them at the Bani Saleh Mosque in northern Gaza.
The news channel also published a video from an Israeli drone showing the bombing of the historic Grand Mosque in Khan Younis. According to the Gaza Government Media Office, Israel has destroyed 610 mosques and three churches in the past 10 months in Gaza.
On Saturday (8/24/2024), Hamas called on the free people of the world to act to defend Muslim and Christian holy places in Palestine. And to end the war of extermination against the Gaza Strip.
