Tel Aviv: Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah was killed in an attack on Hezbollah’s headquarters, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said. Israel attacked the Hezbollah headquarters in Dahiya, south of the Lebanese capital Beirut, on Friday. But the news that Nasrullah was killed has not been confirmed by the Hezbollah leadership or the Lebanese authorities.

Six high-rise buildings were destroyed in the attack in Bayreuth. The UN said that it is looking at the incident with concern. Israel’s action is a complete rejection of the 21-day ceasefire proposed by countries including the US and France. The airstrike came after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced in the UN General Assembly that he would not end the military operation that has been going on in Lebanon for a week against Hezbollah.

Nasrullah was also rumored to have been killed in an Israeli attack in 2006. But after a few days Nasrullah was back in public. Nasrullah has been the leader of Hezbollah for 32 years. Iran’s media clarified that unless Hezbollah makes a public statement, Israel’s claim is the only one.

Israel’s pager and walkie-talkie blasts in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah killed many. Hasan Nasrullah said that he was shocked by the attack and would retaliate. After that, more than 500 people were killed in a single day in the attack by Israel in southern Lebanon. After this, Israel launched a heavy missile attack on Dahiya in southern Beirut, targeting the Hezbollah leader himself.
