Although it is possible that future investigations will confirm the leak, the company said in a statement on the 7th, “As of the 4th, no information has been confirmed to have leaked from our company.”
Tokio Marine says that if the information were to be leaked, up to 72,000 records, including the names of insurance policyholders and other parties involved in an accident, could be exposed. Sompo Japan and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance have not made any public statements as they are “under investigation.”
