The official IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Telecommunications Minister Issa Zarepour as saying that the spacecraft named “Salman”, weighing 500 kg, was successfully launched to an altitude of 130 km.

The information does not specify whether the ship is carrying any creatures or not. 13 years ago, Iran sent some animals such as turtles, mice and worms into space. In addition, in April 2020, after many failures, Iran also successfully launched a military satellite into space.

Iran’s space technology tests are opposed by the US and some Western countries, due to concerns that they could be used to launch long-range ballistic missiles. However, Tehran denies these accusations.
