Iran’s judiciary said on Monday, January 29, that its government has executed four people on the charge of “spying for Israel”.
According to the report of Mizan website related to Iran’s judiciary, “This morning, the execution order of four members of a group affiliated with the Zionist spy organization, who were arrested for planning bomb attacks in Isfahan, was carried out. It was.”
According to Mizan’s report: “The operative group assigned by the Mossad intelligence agency, which planned to plant a bomb in a defense equipment and missile production factory belonging to the Ministry of Defense, was arrested.”
These people were arrested in July 2022 and their names are Mohammad Faramarzi, Mohsen Mazloum, Wafa Azarbar and Pazhman Fathi.
Iran has accused that these people were recruited by the Mossad “about a year and a half before” these operations… and were sent to African countries for military training.
The execution order was issued in September 2023.
In August 2023, Iran claimed to have foiled a “highly sophisticated” project planned by the Mossad aimed at “sabotaging” Iran’s ballistic missile industry. A few months ago, in February, Tehran accused Israel of being involved in a drone attack on a military base in Isfahan.
Tensions have raged between the two countries for decades, and Iran has repeatedly accused Israel and its backer, the United States, of fomenting unrest in the region.
After China, Iran carries out the most executions in the world. According to the report of the Human Rights Agency of Iran, the country has executed more than 600 people in 2023 alone.
