Inflation is ahead;  From soap to coffee, the price has gone up

Even when the central government says that inflation in the country is less than other countries, the prices of upputhot camphor are increasing massively. Inflation based on India’s Wholesale Price Index (WPI) rose to 2.61 percent in May. This is the highest rate in the last 15 months. Apart from the increase in the prices of vegetables and fruits, the prices of branded goods used by common people have also increased.

Godrej Consumer Products has hiked the prices of soaps. Santoor and Dove rose 3 percent and 2 percent respectively. The price of Palmolive Body Wash increased by 9 percent. Hindustan Unilever has hiked the price of Pears Body Wash by 4 percent. Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Jyoti Labs have hiked prices by 2-10 per cent on some products.

Hindustan Unilever and Godrej Consumer have hiked prices of liquid detergents by 9 percent and 5 percent respectively. Prices of Pepsodent and Close Up increased by 6–10 percent. Sensodyne price hike is 4-5 percent. Hindustan Unilever hiked shampoo prices by 2-6 percent. L’Oreal has increased the price of Total Repair Shampoo by 5 percent. Hindustan Unilever has hiked prices of various skin care products by 3-4 percent. Parachute coconut oil saw a price hike of 8-11 per cent and Dabur almond oil by 8 per cent. Nestle increased coffee prices by 8-13 percent.


Nestle has hiked the price of A+-Tone milk by 5 percent. Horlicks and Complan prices increased by 3-4 percent. Thumbs Up and Coca-Cola increased prices by 13 percent. The price of Tropicana slices rose by 5 percent. ITC Ashirwad hiked wheat prices by 2 percent. ITC Yippie Noodles price increased by 17 percent. The price hike of Nestle Maggi Oat Noodles is also 17 percent.
