FT Island continues its activities as a two-member system with Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin.
On the 29th, the agency FNC Entertainment released an official statement and said, “After in-depth discussions on FT Island’s future activities, we have decided to temporarily work as a two-member group.”
“Starting from November 2nd, drum positions will be replaced by sessions,” he said.
“Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin are expected to perform without a hitch as they have prepared hard.”
FT Island will hold concerts such as Grand Mint Festival on November 2nd, KHNP Music Festival on November 8th, FT Island Live ‘PULSE’ in Macau on November 10th, Live on Busan on November 17th, Live in Seoul on November 24th, etc. We are planning to hold a performance.
The agency said, “We sincerely apologize to the organizers who prepared the event, the fans who experienced confusion, and the audience.”
Choi Min-hwan, who plays drums in FT Island, is suspected of entering entertainment establishments after the recording of his ex-wife Yul-hee’s upload on the YouTube channel on the 24th was made public.
At the end of the video, Yulhee also released a recording of her ex-husband Choi Minhwan talking on the phone with a man. In the transcript, Choi Min-hwan said to the other party, “I want to go out to play,” “They say the lady isn’t there. They said the wait is really long.”, “Is there a lady?”, “I’m free now. I don’t have anywhere to go. (When told to go play with my wife and kids.) ) Don’t say anything strange, because we are together every day.”
As the controversy grew, FNC said, “It is difficult for us to understand the details of the couple’s private life, but Choi Min-hwan feels responsible for disappointing the public and viewers.” He continued, “I would like to stop all media activities, including broadcasts in which I appear with my children,” and added, “We apologize for causing inconvenience and concern to many people.”
Choi Min-hwan withdrew from KBS 2TV’s ‘The Return of Superman’, in which he was appearing. He was criticized for playing the drums backstage at the ‘2024 FT Island Live ‘Pulse’ Asia Tour held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the 26th.
Gangnam Police Station in Seoul is conducting an internal investigation into Choi Min-hwan and his intermediary, Mr. A, on charges including the Prostitution Punishment Act, according to a complaint received through Kookmin Newspaper.
