In Canada, the court to determine the punishment for the person who is convicted of murdering 4 Muslims has started

On Thursday, January 4th (14th of March), the court started in Canada to determine the punishment for the person who killed four members of a Muslim family with his car two years ago.

This person’s name is Nathaniel Weltman, he is 23 years old and he calls himself the best white man. He was accused of murder in November, but he has denied the charge.

In November 2021, Veltman hit and killed the parents, grandparents and 15-year-old granddaughter of a family in London, Ontario, Canada. Another nine-year-old child was seriously injured in this incident.

Tabindar Bukhari’s 44-year-old daughter died in this incident. She said on Thursday: “This (incident) is not only a crime against the Muslim community, but an insult to the security of all of Canada.”

It is expected that 70 witnesses will testify in this two-day hearing. Amira Al-Ghawabi, the special representative for the prevention of Islamophobia in Canada, said: “This grief and sadness, fear, anger and pain are mentioned again and again.”

In Canada, the punishment for manslaughter is life imprisonment, but after serving 25 years in prison, the convict can be released on parole.

Local media say that Judge Nathaniel Veltman will decide whether his act is terrorism or not before sentencing him.
