Bunker shots are all about the wrist, not the rotation
In a bunker, you should mainly use the swing of your wrist to make the club head move quickly.
In a normal shot, you don’t bend your wrist until your left arm is parallel to the ground, but in a bunker shot, you use your wrist to raise the club from the ready position. This increases the cocking angle, allowing you to use your wrist to its full potential. It’s also important to release the cock early enough to make time for impact.
Normally, you increase your head speed by increasing the amount of rotation, but in a bunker, the movement of your wrists is the main factor. Therefore, it is correct to hit the ball using only your wrists.
However, if you stop your body completely, you won’t be able to gain enough speed, so turn your body as you move your wrist.
POINT: The swing width should be 2 to 3 times the distance you want to hit.
In a bunker shot, you hit the sand, not the ball. To overcome the resistance, swing your club 2 to 3 times the distance you want to hit. For hard sand, swing 2 times, and for soft sand, swing 3 times.

NG: Hitting with a stiff wrist
If you hit without using your wrist, the head will not run and will be easily defeated by the resistance of the sand. However, when there is almost no sand and the ground is very hard, it is also possible to hit the ball cleanly in the same way as an approach shot.
