An event was held in Yasuda Town, Kochi Prefecture on the 27th to allow children to learn about disaster prevention and drowning accident prevention in a fun way.
This event was held for the first time in 2024 by the Aki Police Station and others to ensure that children have a safe summer vacation.
At the venue, demonstrations were given on how to make disaster prevention supplies using everyday items such as plastic bottles, and what to do if you are swept away, and the children listened with interest.
“I wanted to try making canned food light.”
“I learned how scary rivers can be. (Q. When you get swept away) look up.”
In 2023, three drowning accidents occurred in the jurisdiction of the Aki Police Station, resulting in two deaths. The Aki Police Station said, “We want people to enjoy the river, but also to play safely.”
