On September 4, the Vietnamese Embassy coordinated with the Vietnamese Women’s Union and local authorities to organize COVID-19 vaccination for 200 Vietnamese people in the area. Subjects are Vietnamese workers and family members over 18 years old. This is the second round of vaccination for Vietnamese workers after the first time in mid-August 2021, when more than 500 Vietnamese people were vaccinated against COVID-19.
Ms. Thu Hoa from Penang state said that to go to Kuala Lumpur, 21 Vietnamese workers in Penang who were vaccinated this time rented a car from 12 o’clock the night before. Upon arriving, Ms. Hoa was very touched by the care and help of the Embassy, Vietnamese organizations as well as the local government. According to her, after being vaccinated against COVID-19, she feels more secure when working as well as when going out to buy necessities. She hopes that more Vietnamese people in the area will be vaccinated.
Sharing difficulties with people during the epidemic, Counselor Nguyen Hong Son, the second person of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, emphasized that vaccination is a necessary step to enter the new normal state. Although vaccines help create antibodies, reduce the possibility of virus infection, especially the number of severe cases, however, to increase the effectiveness of epidemic prevention, people still need to comply with epidemic prevention and control regulations such as wearing masks, Wash hands, disinfect, ensure physical distancing…
Counselor Nguyen Hong Son said that in the near future, the Embassy will continue to coordinate with authorities and organizations in the area to vaccinate more Vietnamese people working and studying against COVID-19. and lives in Malaysia. Vaccination methods are also more diverse, including both vaccination in fixed places and mobile vaccination organizations, especially for people in remote areas.
Appreciating the love that the Malaysian government and people have for them, Counselor Nguyen Hong Son also thanked community organizations, especially the Vietnamese Women’s Union and President Tran Thi Chang for accompanying the Embassy. During the epidemic, we hope that people will contribute more to efforts to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
